News Update :

Wi-Fi-only Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 launches in July in Canada, 3G version comes in August

Thursday, June 9, 2011

During a tablet-focused event, Samsung has officially announced that it will be bringing the Galaxy Tab 10.1 to Canada, which of course isn't at all unexpected. Samsung Canada has also given us a rough time frame for the release of its biggest tablet yet.

The Wi-Fi-only version of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 will become available in Canada in July and will be sold by various electronics stores. The 3G-enabled version will be available from Rogers, Bell, and Telus in August.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 will launch in Canada with Android 3.1 Honeycomb on board – so there won't be a need for you to update the tablet to the latest version of the operating system after you've purchased it.

Unfortunately, Samsung didn't discuss price points, so we don't yet know how much the tablet will cost – not even the Wi-Fi-only version. It's certain that the carriers will do some subsidizing magic and try to lure you into one of those oh-so-Canadian three-year contracts.

Anyway, more details about pricing are bound to come soon, so stay tuned.
