Asus Eee Pad Slider gets listed by Amazon Germany, launch near?

Friday, June 10, 2011

Back in January, Asus announced three different Android Honeycomb-powered tablets, the Eee Pad Transformer, the Eee Pad Slider, and the Eee Pad MeMo. Of those, only the Transformer has so far hit the streets, and it seems to be quite the success, at least in terms of price per features ratio. We've heard many things over the past few weeks about the Transformer, but we haven't heard a thing about Asus' other two tablets in a very long while.

Until today, when Amazon Germany decided to create a listing for the Asus Eee Pad Slider. The page isn't even accessible by searching Amazon, not yet at least, so you'll have to click here to view it. There's no price or release date information, but some of the specs are confirmed there.

The Asus Eee Pad Slider, this device with a rather unique form factor that reminds me of the HTC Advantage from yesteryear, will have a 10.1-inch touchscreen, a dual-core 1.2 GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, 1 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage space, and GPS. It will come in either brown or silver.

If you're in Germany, you can ask Amazon to send you an email when the Slider becomes available. And judging from the fact that the retailer already has the dedicated page up, the Eee Pad Slider's launch may be imminent. We'll keep you posted.
