Galaxy Tab 10.1 Google I/O edition gets Android 3.1 Honeycomb

Great news for everyone who managed to snag one of the limited edition Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablets from the latest Google I/O event. It has been reported that the OTA update that brings the tablet up to Android 3.1 is current rolling out to tablets right now. Besides the previously announced features for Android 3.1 Honeycomb (USB host access, rentals, performance improvements etc), no word on what else the update brings but we'll let you if we discover anything extra.

To download the OTA update, just log in your Samsung account, and head to the About page to check for updates. And for folks who have rooted devices - it has also been reported that this update won't break root which is pretty good news for those of you who have been holding out just in case you lost root access. But as usual, you never know what could go wrong during the update, so always remember to back up all your important files before attempting anything. Let us know how the update goes for you.
