Gateway TP-A60W arrives at the FCC, is rebranded Iconia Tab A500

Saturday, June 11, 2011

Gateway's TP-A60W tablet might seem rather familiar in terms of its form factor to those who follow the tablet market, and we are not surprised. Having arrived at the FCC, we are now able to have a closer look at Gateway's offering, which is essentially a rebranded version of the Acer Iconia Tab A500. Makes perfect sense actually, since Acer owns Gateway, so why not have their subsidiary roll out a tablet they can call their own after changing the badge in front? More on the Gateway TP-A60W's specifications in the extended post.

Said tablet will come with a dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, while a 5-megapixel rear camera will do its bit to capture photos of impromptu moments in your life, whereas a 2-megapixel front facing camera is good for video calls and conferences. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for a wireless life, while a 10.1″ touchscreen display rounds it all off. There is one major cosmetic difference between the Gateway TP-A60W and the Acer model – the former lacks the latter's brushed aluminum back, carrying a fingerprint loving black glossy finish instead to accompany the Gateway logo.
