The grand daddy of Korean chaebols has announced that it has postponed the Australian media launch for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, which was originally scheduled for August 11. This also means that it is highly unlikely the tablet itself with be released Down Under on that day as well.
Samsung reiterated that the tablet itself is not canceled for good. In a recent statement, which was published in Gizmodo Australia, the company with release the GalTab 10.1 in the continent within “the near future.” The exact date, however, is still up in the air.
The postponement comes after Samsung defied its agreement with Apple, where the former would not release nor advertise the Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Australia. Samsung found a workaround and planned on releasing what they called a variant of the tablet instead, only to retract its plans because it goes against the good faith of the agreement.
Samsung will announce a new date for the Galaxy Tab 10.1 media launch “as soon as practicable.”
