Last
month the UK retailer Clove informed us of the existence of the ZTE V9A
Light Tab II, which it started taking pre-orders for. This is a rather
affordable 7-inch Android tablet with 3G connectivity built in.
Unfortunately, it runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread, which is an OS version
designed with phones, not tablets, in mind. And it's unlikely to ever be
updated to anything else. Still, for a 3G-enabled 7-inch tablet the £234.99 price isn't that bad. The ZTE Light Tab II is still up for pre-order at Clove, with shipping projected to start in late February or early March. Today though, ZTE has decided to officially announce the Light Tab II for the UK. Apparently the tablet is already on sale in Spain, Indonesia, and Hong Kong. The press release that the Chinese company has put out doesn't go into any details regarding a possible release date in Blighty. The ZTE Light Tab II will have a 7-inch 1024x600 touchscreen, a 1.4 GHz single-core processor, 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB of built-in storage, microSD card support, a 3.2 MP rear camera, a 0.3 MP front-facing camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 14.4 Mbps HSDPA, and a 3,400 mAh battery. |
