| Lenovo has officially introduced a new Android tablet at CES 2012: the IdeaTab S2. The S2 is Lenovo's first Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich tablet, and comes with a "light keyboard dock" that "can deliver an incredible 20 hours of battery life, which is great for both entertainment and productivity" - so it can be seen as a direct competitor to Asus' Transformer Prime. However, unlike the Transformer Prime, Lenovo's IdeaTab S2 doesn't have a quad-core processor, but a dual-core one (although we've heard the company may have a quad-core tablet, too). Other features: 10 inch display, Lenovo Mondrian UI, rear and front-facing cameras. The IdeaTab S2 is "available immediately in China", and should be released in other markets "at a later date." Lenovo has also brought the previously-announced Smartphone S2 at CES 2012 (it still runs Android Gingerbread, and there's no word if it's going to get Android 4.0 ICS). More interestingly, the company has announced the K91 smart TV, which, like the IdeaPad S2, uses Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (being the world's first TV to do so) and has a dual-core processor. | |
