Sunday, July 24, 2011

AndyPad has just got a little more REAL, thanks to the maker finally nailing down the full tech spec of both hardware versions of its forthcoming 7″ Android 2.3 tablet. There's nothing new that hasn't already been well foreshadowed by the company and the many leaks, but it's still good to have a proper list.

This is it:

AndyPad also says the Pro model features “SensaTouch” screen technology, which we've just tried Googling with no luck. Anyone have an explanation? Here's the announcement:

The Andy Pad is here!

A whole new world of touchable technology where anyone can have access to the wealth of the web, thousands of games and an app for their every need at the tip of their fingers. We've had a fantastic response from bloggers, journalists and tweeters since we announced the Andy Pad back in April. Since that date, the Andy Pad has taken on a whole new dimension and branched into two separate tablets. We're writing to you today to officially announce the Andy Pad and the Andy Pad Pro.

The Andy Pad is orientated towards the younger generation and aims to provide an all-in-one experience for its users. Straight out of the box, the Andy Pad features a number of the top apps across the Android platform ready for use immediately. The Andy Pad features a powerful Cortex A8 1.2 processor and 512MB RAM, so you'll easily be able to play all the latest games and watch movies on the go.

The Andy Pad Pro is aimed at the more proficient tablet user. It includes a strong SensaTouch screen and greater storage space than the Andy Pad. Perfect for checking your emails on the go, the Andy Pad Pro is the ultimate device for the young professional, business user or tech fanatic. Similar to the Andy Pad, the Pro features a number of additional apps ready for use straight out of the box.
