News Update :

Motorola Xoom 3G now available in the UK for £199.99 with £25 per month unlimited data contract

Monday, May 9, 2011

The Motorola Xoom tablet pc, the first ever tablet to run Android 3.0 Honeycomb (the first tablet-optimized version of Google's mobile operating system), is already available in the UK, in both 3G and Wi-Fi-only flavors. The 3G-enabled version is an exclusive to Carphone Warehouse. The retailer had started pre-orders for £599.99, but in the meantime dropped the price to the £579.99 it still asks today. That's obviously for an unlocked device that you can use on any network you please.

But if that asking price is too expensive for you, yet you'd still want to get yourself a Xoom, and also plan on extensively using a mobile data connection on it, then Carphone Warehouse may still have something for you. It's now got a new option: you can purchase the tablet for just £199.99 outright, but to do so you have to sign a two-year data contract. That will cost you £25 per month and give you ‘unlimited' data (subject to a fair use policy).

Head on over to Carphone Warehouse right now if this deal sounds good to you. After all, if you were going to buy a data SIM for your tablet anyway, why not choose this option and spend a lot less for the device?
